Family hosts fundraiser to bury murdered South Austin man

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The family of a South Austin man who was murdered, is working to raise enough money to bury him. Guillermo Bernal Gomez was found dead last Sunday in the Bainbridge Villas apartment complex.

Saturday, his family was selling tacos, beans and rice in South Austin, to raise money for his funeral. The family has also set up a GoFundMe. “We’re really needing help, and we don’t wanna give up hope, we have his six children that are expecting to be able to put their father to rest this weekend it’s such short notice, and we didn’t expect this to happen to him.” said Amanda Rodriguez, Gomez’ sister-in-law.

Gomez' case is still under investigation.
