AUSTIN, Texas - Gov. Greg Abbott's plan to reopen the Texas economy starts Friday.
The statewide stay-at-home order is expected to expire on Thursday, April 30, and certain businesses will be allowed to reopen at 25 percent capacity on May 1. Those businesses include retail stores, malls, movie theaters and restaurants. Phase 2, which Gov. Abbott hopes to begin on May 18, will increase capacity to 50 percent.
