Harvey evacuees seek shelter at Delco Activity Center
More than 130 people are seeking shelter at the Delco Activity Center. Many of them are coming from Victoria, Texas which is an hour and a half north of Corpus Christi.
They left everything they had behind to escape the wrath of Harvey. Thankfully the Red Cross is prepared for a situation with an incredible response from volunteers.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott and other state and local officials stopped by to hep serve evacuees dinner. Gov. Abbott also provided an update on those affected and the service being offered. He said he wasn't surprised with how much support the community is showing.
The Red Cross says it expects to see more people in the coming days. Organizers say they have a plan set in places as more people seek shelter.
