Austin Pets Alive! says many of its kennels flooded last night due to severe weather across Central Texas.

Thankfully, dogs were moved to safety before floodwater reached the kennels thanks to staff and volunteers, says APA! Currently, the team is preparing for more flooding as rain is projected for at least the next couple of days.

The dogs were moved to higher ground while staff pumped water out and away from the affected kennels, says the shelter.

APA! says they face unique challenges when dealing with rain like this and could use the community's help with both equipment and staffing needs to prevent their TLAC facility from flooding. In a video (see below), APA! staff said this facility is the oldest animal shelter in Texas.
