Deputies make arrest after man found shot in car backseat in north Travis County: sheriff
AUSTIN, Texas - The Travis County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the death of a man who was found shot in the backseat of a car over the weekend.
TCSO says just before midnight on Sunday, Oct. 22, a patrol deputy was flagged down by a man parked in the road in the 1700 block of Wells Branch Parkway in north Travis County.
The man directed the deputy to a 2023 red Nissan Sentra with front-end damage. 29-year-old Nahiean Edwin Wright, of Killeen, was in the backseat with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
TCSO has ordered an autopsy.

The man who flagged the deputy down, 32-year-old George Nickerius Nolden, of Waco, was detained and later arrested for murder. TCSO says the two men knew each other.
TCSO says the investigation so far indicates Wright was shot somewhere else and that the Sentra had been involved in a recent crash.
