Netflix releases first footage of Christian Serratos in new Selena series

Netflix has released a teaser trailer of "Selena: The Series" featuring actress Christian Serratos as the Queen of Tejano music Selena Quintanilla.

Serratos, who is know for her roles as Rosita Espinosa on the AMC zombie series "The Walking Dead" and for her role as Angela Weber in the "Twilight" film series, is seen in the short clip putting on red lip stick, practicing dance moves in one of Selena's most iconic outfits and reading pages from a script.

Also starring in the series will be Ricardo Chavira as Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla, Jr., Seidy Lopez as Selena's mother Marcella, Gabriel Chavarria as Selena's brother A.B. Quintanilla III and Noemi Gonzalez as Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla.

Members of the Quintanilla family will be among the executive producers of the series which will tell the singer's life story.

Filming has reportedly already begun and the series will be broken up in to two parts with the first part consisting of six episodes that will be one hour long.

The series is expected to premiere sometime in 2020.
