Search continues for known transient who shot at restaurant while drunk

The Austin Police Department is still searching for a known transient who shot an off-duty employee at the Usta Kababgy restaurant in North Austin.  30-year-old Eddie Eleazar Rincon is wanted for aggravated assault, a second-degree felony. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Austin Police Department. 

According to the warrant for his arrest, employees at the Halal restaurant had told Rincon to leave the property after he was caught urinating on a wall at the restaurant. Rincon allegedly came back two hours later with a gun and fired at the front door, striking an off-duty employee inside.

Known transient shoots at restaurant while drunk, witness says

A large hole is where a bullet entered into a corner restaurant Tuesday night. It happened around 10:00 at a shopping center near the intersection of North Lamar and Rutland Dr.

The off-duty employee was shot in his right leg, officers arrived quickly on scene and were able to stop the bleeding with a tourniquet. That effort saved the employee's life, according to the arrest affidavit. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
