The best of gaming culture converged in Austin for SXSW Gaming March 15th through the 17th. Those that attended were able to discover a unique combination of exhibitions, esports tournaments, hands on play, panels and much more.

One of the more popular events was the Gaming Expo. That's where people could test out new games and try out new gaming products. FOX 7 Austin's Casey Claiborne got a look at some of the games on display and spoke to gaming legend Richard Garriott on Facebook Live which you can see below or by going here.

People at the expo could also play in tournament style settings. In the PC Arena, people could play games like Starcraft 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ or Fortnite Battle Royale against fellow attendees.

If tabletop games are more your speed, attendees could join others and play games like Magic: The Gathering and Star Wars: Destiny.

There were also areas where people could play old school arcade games like Mortal Kombat and also play on old gaming consoles.
