TCSO looking for man who walked into unlocked home, bound and robbed woman

The Travis County Sheriff's Office says a man walked into an unlocked home in the Bee Cave area, bound a woman and robbed her, and now they're trying to find him before he does this to anyone else.

Just off Bee Caves Road sits Lake Stone Drive, a sort of suburban oasis, the kind of place with lots of green grass, basketball hoops and golf carts full of kids. On Tuesday morning, a stranger made his way into the neighborhood, shattering that quiet.

A young woman was returning home from H-E-B and left her garage door open while she unloaded groceries. A man followed her in, walking through the garage and an unlocked door into the house.

He bound the woman with zip ties and robbed her.

TCSO is calling the incident an aggravated robbery, meaning the man had a gun, injured or threatened the woman. TCSO shared a NextDoor post with neighbors Wednesday and are working to determine if the incident was random or if the woman was targeted and followed home from the grocery store.

At this time, there is no suspect description.

TCSO said it was too early in the investigation to say if the case is connected to an aggravated robbery in Sun City in November. In that robbery, a woman returned home from grocery shopping and left the garage door open. As she was putting away groceries, a man walked into her garage and through an unlocked door. He displayed a gun, bound the woman and her husband together and robbed them.

TCSO is asking residents to close their garage doors down when they return home.
