Teen girl stabs other teen in fight over boy at O.D. Wyatt HS

A 17-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being stabbed at OD Wyatt High School.

Fort Worth ISD officials said two girls got into a fight in the gym over a boy and text messages. A 15-year-old student pulled out a 3-inch pocket knife and stabbed a 17-year-old student four times in the upper body.

The student was taken to JPS hospital for treatment and was in serious condition on Wednesday afternoon, but was expected to recover.

Cell phone video of the incident shows a coach in the gym and other students were able to quickly break up the fight.

The two girls were reportedly friends and the girl who was stabbed had just returned to school and was a new mom.

The school does have metal detectors, but they reportedly are not used every day.

The attacker has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
