Amazon donates $25,000 to New Braunfels Food Bank
AUSTIN, Texas - On October 1, Amazon employees from across Central Texas joined forces to help feed local children in need.
Employees from the San Marcos and Shertz Amazon fulfillment centers visited the New Braunfels Food Bank to pack lunches for the Comal Independent School District.
Amazon also donated $25,000 to the New Braunfels Food Bank in their efforts to help feed the struggling children in Comal ISD.
“Students are our future innovators and their success depends on their ability to learn and be curious – they can’t do that on a hungry stomach,” said Eli Pabon, General Manager of Amazon at the San Marcos fulfillment center. “Amazon is excited to be able to support the Comal Independent School District by partnering with the New Braunfels Food Bank to help support local children and their families get access to nutritious food.”
This donation is part of Amazon’s commitment to fighting childhood hunger. Amazon is working with local food banks and schools to support hunger initiatives in areas near fulfillment centers and help provide at least 500,000 meals to support children in local communities across the U.S.
