Austin motorcyclist ejected after striking parked car, dies days later
AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin man has died after he struck a parked car and was ejected from his motorcycle in North Austin.
According to Austin police, at approximately 6:50 p.m. on February 8, 40-year-old Alejandro Aguilera drove his 2019 Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle into a parked 2011 Nissan Sentra. The accident occurred in the parking lot of the Studio 6 Motel located at 6603 N. IH-35 Service Road NB.

According to police, the vehicle that Aguilera struck was legally parked.
Aguilera was not wearing a helmet at the time he was ejected from his motorcycle. He was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where he later died on February 15.

This is Austin's 18th fatal traffic crash of 2020, resulting in 19 fatalities. At this time in 2019 Austin recorded six traffic fatalities.
