Pedestrian killed in South Austin hit-and-run
AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in South Austin.
The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at the intersection of James Casey Street and W. Ben White Blvd. near St. David's South Medical Center.
When paramedics got there, they performed CPR. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, but the pedestrian has died.
He was later identified as Nelson Anderson, 20.
Police say the driver of the vehicle took off and did not stop to render aid.
On April, 6, 2023, police released information on the suspect vehicle. They are looking for a red Toyota or Pontiac.
