Harris County murder case involving suspect in Judge Kocurek shooting dismissed
The main suspect in the attempted assassination of 390th District Court Judge Julie Kocurek has been dismissed from murder charges in Harris County.
Chimene Hamilton Onyeri, 28, was charged with murder of 31-year-old Jacobi Demon Alexander on May 18, 2015. Unrelated to the Houston murder case Onyeri is also a suspect the November 6th, 2015 shooting and attempted murder of Travis County judge Julie Kocurek.
According to the Harris County D.A.'s Office The 14th District Court for Calcasieu, Louisiana has adopted the Harris County murder case. The Louisiana District Court has "adopted the murder which occurred on May 18, 2015 in a racketeering indictment in Docket #26451-15."
In an email sent to FOX 7 the District Attorney's office goes on to say that "The murder is being dismissed here and will part of the racketeering charge in Louisiana. He will be moved to Austin first. They have a hold on the suspect."
