Man, woman killed in apparent murder-suicide, says New Braunfels police
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - The New Braunfels Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide.
Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 2500 block of West San Antonio Street in southwest New Braunfels around 7:20 a.m. Monday after a man and a woman were found dead inside a car in the parking lot.
Officers found both the man and woman had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. New Braunfels police detectives were called to the scene along with crime scene technicians to begin investigating.
Autopsies have been ordered and the two have been identified as 34-year-old Michael Dewayne Logue and 37-year-old Desiree Bernarducci, both of New Braunfels. NBPD says next of kin has been notified for both.
NBPD says based on preliminary investigation results, the incident is currently considered a murder-suicide. Police say it is believed Logue and Bernarducci knew each other and that Logue fatally shot Bernarducci with a handgun before turning the gun on himself.
NBPD says final determinations are still pending autopsy results and a continued investigation.
