Students, parents and community members nationwide are calling on lawmakers to make some changes after last week's deadly shooting in Florida.

In Central Texas, dozens of protesters stood across from Pflugerville High School rallying against gun violence on Monday.

A group called "Community Supporting Safe Schools" organized the rally and the message was simple: safer schools for teachers, students and staff.

Many people held signs and asked that people prioritize kids over guns. The protest was a peaceful one with no hate signs.

Organizers asked those who attended to bring a sign or poster with the name of their child’s school to show they're supporting all of the schools within the district.
