Tony Todd reportedly dies at 69, say reports

Veteran actor Tony Todd, best known for his iconic role in "Candyman," has reportedly passed away at age 69, according to Deadline and Variety

The prolific actor, whose film and TV career spanned more than four decades, died on November 6 at his Los Angeles home. Todd’s representatives confirmed his passing but did not disclose a cause of death, as reported by Deadline.

Born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C., Todd developed his talent at the Eugene O’Neill National Actors Theatre Institute and Trinity Rep Conservatory. 

His early career included a notable role as Sergeant Warren in Oliver Stone’s Platoon (1986), and he became widely recognized for his portrayal of the hook-wielding title character in Candyman (1992), a role he reprised in the 2021 sequel directed by Nia DaCosta.
