Two arrested after foot pursuit at La Grange Walmart
La Grange, Texas - Two were arrested Wednesday night after a brief foot pursuit at a Walmart in La Grange.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, deputies and La Grange police officers responded to the Walmart Supercenter around 11:20 p.m. Feb. 12 in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle.
The caller gave a detailed description of the suspects and deputies found a vehicle with multiple people inside who matched the description, says FCSO.
Deputies approached the vehicle and noticed multiple passengers attempt to hide items under their seats. FCSO says for the safety of the officers, the people were removed from the vehicle.

Deputies then saw narcotics inside the car and tried to put one of the suspects in handcuffs who then fled on foot. Deputies chased the suspect and tried to tase the suspect twice, but both times were unsuccessful due to the suspect's thick clothing, says FCSO.
The suspect was eventually caught after a brief struggle. Marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine and a handgun were found inside the vehicle, and a knife was found on the suspect who ran from deputies.
The driver was arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawful carry of a weapon. The passenger who fled on foot was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
