Capital Metro ridership increased, 13 months straight
AUSTIN, Texas - Capital Metro has announced that it has seen a rise in commuters for the past 13 months straight.

"The ridership figures here are the total boardings of all Capital Metro bus, rail and paratransit services in the selected month. Ridership is calculated using various methods for different services." Capital Metro's website states.
The data counts each individual rider as they embark on a Capital Metro vehicle, "The data counts individual rides on vehicles (not trips), so customers making transfers are counted on each vehicle they take."

In October of 2018, the total ridership for all of Capital Metro was 2.9M commuters, compared to 3.1M in October 2019.
The data also shows a vast majority of the commuters are using MetroBus as opposed to any other Capital Metro service, especially during the weekdays.
