Woman sentenced to 20 years for stabbing an East Austin elderly couple
AUSTIN, Texas - A woman has been sentenced to 20 years for stabbing an elderly couple at their East Austin home in May 2018.
37-year-old Mornia Haywood was charged for attacking a 74-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife in the 5400 block of Claymoor Drive on May 22, 2018.
The couple say they had never met Haywood before she walked into their home and stabbed them both, multiple times.
Haywood later admitted she was high on PCP at the time of the stabbings. She also plead guilty to stabbing two other people just days prior to stabbing the elderly couple.
Haywood was formally sentenced by Judge David Wahlberg in the 167th District Court. He took Haywood's two offenses and her usage of a deadly weapon into consideration when sentencing the woman.
